Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV

Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”

Ephesians 4:15–16 reminds us that spiritual maturity is not simply about knowing the truth, but about speaking the truth in love and growing together under the leadership of Christ. Truth without love can become harsh, while love without truth can become shallow. Christ calls us to hold both together, allowing our words and actions to strengthen rather than tear down.

Paul also emphasizes that every believer has a part to play in the health of the body of Christ. As each person serves faithfully, encourages others, accepts correction, and uses the gifts God has given them, the whole church grows stronger. Spiritual growth is not meant to happen in isolation; God often uses other believers to shape, challenge, support, and mature us.

Daily application: Ask yourself today: Am I speaking truth with genuine love, and am I contributing to the spiritual growth of the people God has placed around me?
