Daily Verse

John 14:15 is simple but searching: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

Jesus connects love with obedience. Following Him is more than agreeing with His teaching or feeling affection toward Him; genuine love for Christ shows itself in the choices we make. Obedience is not a way to earn His love—it is a response to the love we have already received from Him.

This verse invites us to ask: Does the way I live reflect the love for Jesus that I profess? Sometimes obedience is costly, inconvenient, or contrary to what we naturally want. Yet choosing Christ’s way demonstrates trust that His commands are for our good and His glory.

Practical application: Today, identify one area where you already know what Jesus is asking of you—perhaps forgiveness, patience, generosity, honesty, or serving someone—and intentionally obey Him there.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help my love for You be more than words. Give me a willing heart to trust You, obey Your Word, and demonstrate my love through the way I live. Amen.
