John 15:14-15 ESV

“You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”

What an extraordinary expression of God's grace! Jesus, the Son of God and Lord of all creation, invites us into a relationship that goes beyond merely being servants who follow instructions. He calls us friends—people He loves, trusts, and welcomes into the revelation of His Father's heart.

Yet this friendship carries a responsibility. Our obedience is not an attempt to earn His affection but a response to the love we have already received. True friendship with Christ transforms our priorities, influences our decisions, and moves us to align our lives with His will.

Practical Application: As we approach each day, consider whether we are merely acknowledging Jesus as Lord or actively cultivating a friendship with Him through prayer, Scripture, trust, and obedience. Are we allowing what He reveals to us to change how we live and how we love others?

Thought for Today: Jesus does not simply invite us to work for Him; He invites us to walk with Him. What a privilege to be known, loved, and called a friend of Christ.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for calling me Your friend. Help me never to take that invitation lightly. Draw me closer to Your heart, deepen my understanding of Your Word, and let my obedience be a genuine expression of my love for You. In Jesus name, Amen.
