Proverbs 12:16 ESV
The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent ignores an insult.
Proverbs 12:16 reminds us that wisdom is often revealed in how we respond when we are offended. A foolish person reacts immediately, but a wise person exercises restraint and refuses to let every insult control their emotions. For believers, this means trusting God enough to pause, respond with grace, and choose peace over the need to defend ourselves.
Daily application: When something irritates or offends you today, resist the immediate reaction. Ask God for the wisdom to respond in a way that reflects Christ rather than your emotions.
