Ephesians 4:22-24 ESV

to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Paul reminds us that following Christ involves more than changing our behavior—it requires a transformation of our hearts and minds. We are called to put aside our old sinful habits, allow God to renew our thinking, and embrace the new identity we have in Christ.

Spiritual growth is a daily process of surrender. As we allow the Holy Spirit to reshape our attitudes, desires, and responses, our lives increasingly reflect God's righteousness and holiness.

Practical Application: Each day presents opportunities to put off the old self—pride, impatience, selfishness, and resentment—and put on the new self through humility, patience, forgiveness, and love. True transformation begins when we allow God's truth to change how we think, not just how we act.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, renew my mind and transform my heart. Help me recognize the attitudes and habits that no longer belong in my life and replace them with those that reflect Christ. May my thoughts, words, and actions increasingly reveal the new life You have given me. Amen.
