John 20:30-31 ESV
Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
John reminds us that the miracles and teachings of Jesus were recorded for a greater purpose—not simply to inform us, but to lead us to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. Through that faith, we receive true life in His name.
These verses challenge us to move beyond simply knowing about Jesus to genuinely trusting Him. Faith is not merely acknowledging what Christ has done but allowing that truth to transform how we live, make decisions, and face life's uncertainties.
Personal Application: Each day is an opportunity to strengthen our faith by remembering God's faithfulness and trusting His promises. We don't need to witness every miracle to believe; we have the testimony of Scripture and the evidence of His presence in our lives.
Closing Thought: The purpose of God's Word is not just to increase our knowledge of Christ, but to deepen our relationship with Him and experience the abundant life that comes through faith.
